LOW LIGHT/NO LIGHT

Our Low-Light/No-Light courses has become  one of the most unique classes we offer.  It's a good time but the fact it is, operating in these conditions is a very real concern and poses very real issues.  When the sun goes down, or in the dim indoors, things change drastically when you lose the light and there is a lot more to consider when using firearms.  To Know the Dark, One Must Train in the Dark.

The class is designed around 2 objectives; Education and Experience.

We start the class by covering a wide range of weapon handling skills and shooting positions, and then get into the use of flashlights, weapon lights, the different styles and techniques concerning both rifle and handgun platforms.  Also, the stresses of cover and concealment in terms of low-light /no-light conditions, 360 awareness, and most importantly, threat identification. This class is a dual weapon platform.   You can run handgun or rifle only, or mix it and match.  Optimal experience would be to bring both.

And the second, the pure experience of operating in the dark.  Things change drastically once the light goes out and you need to prepare your self, both in equipment and mental mindset.  Full color targets, flares, flashlights, strobes, full dark, LEDs, and glow-sticks are used to help create a interactive environment. We want to give the experience to the individual of what it's like to function in a low-light/no-light setting.   The goal of Granite Firearms Training is to give the attendee the full experience.  And maybe a few surprises.

The class times vary depending on time of year.  In general, class will start 3-4 hours before sunset, and then continue into the dark for another 4-5 hours.  Class will span 8 hours.
